Pathway Church (Pathway – A Wesleyan Church, 4960 Portland Rd, Saranac, MI 48881) runs this website. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. In short: we use it only to serve you as a church, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
What we collect
- What you give us. Your name, email, phone number and anything you write when you fill out a form: contact and prayer requests, sign-ups, polls, the newsletter, the church survey or text updates.
- Basic technical information. Like most websites, our server keeps short-lived logs (such as IP address and pages visited) to keep the site running and secure. The site uses one cookie to keep editors signed in and to protect forms from abuse. We don't use advertising trackers.
- Visit counts. To see how the site is used, each page sends us the page address, the site that linked to it, the kind of device and browser, and clicks on things like giving, livestream and download links. We look up an approximate town from your internet address and then throw the address away. Visits are counted without cookies and nothing is stored on your device, so we can't recognize you from one day to the next.
- Connection cards. If you fill out a connection card, Pastor Bart and the people who welcome guests see it, and if you give an email address you'll get a few welcome emails from Pastor Bart. Each one has a link to stop them.
How we use it
- To answer your message or prayer request and follow up if you asked us to.
- To run the sign-ups, polls and events you respond to.
- To send the newsletters and text messages you asked for.
Prayer requests marked private are seen only by the pastor. Requests you allow us to share may go to the church prayer chain.
Text messages
If you sign up for text updates, we use your mobile number only to send you Pathway Church messages. We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging opt-in information with anyone else, including third parties or affiliates, for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties. Our texting provider (Twilio) handles the numbers only to deliver our messages. Who else sees it
Only church staff and volunteers who need it to do their work, and the service providers that run our website, email and texting, who may use it only for that purpose. We'll share information if the law requires it or if someone's safety is at risk.
Your choices
- Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Every text list lets you reply STOP.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete what we have about you: email office@pathwaywes.org or call 616.642.6210.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13 through it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
